Is it illegal to go street riding in the city? I was just wondering because heaps of people do it especally at night but i am sure there must be a law against it (because we are having fun doing it)
If you have lights, then you can ride to your hearts content.
Hmm, Streetbike with lights. Great look as your manualing down the sidewalk or wallriding on something.
I read somwhere that to ride at night you must have a light front and rear and reflectors on ur wheels and front and rear of your bike.
Ive been for night rides and passed heaps of coppers and they havent cared but i think that it is more like if you are being a pain in the arse to people the cops will get up you for not having lights etc

Yeah, and if you get a cunt of a cop, he will pull your ass over for riding at night with no lights and not having both wheels firmly on the ground.

guys.. isn't the basic rule bikes are only allowed on road when the rider is over 14??

so technically casnt they pull u up for gapping stairs etc?

Theres no rule saying when kids CAN'T ride on the road, only when they HAVE to, and that age is 12, in Victoria at least.

i think its 14 in nsw..

well i know i have had a close call near my place... nice set of 11 stairs that i like doing to flat... and one day someone came around the corner and i landed all of a metre from them (had their ipod in so couldn't hear me lol)

and they went nuts saying bikes arnt allowed on foothaphs etc..

but saying that... at thredbo for interschools when the kids took over the village there were cops there and one of them was like fully sucking up to my mate and saying how good his bike is (we know he wanted a ride lol) and we asked him if it was a bad day what could he pin us for.. and he said the lights no helmet etc.. but thinking back he never said anything about us been up near the shops :S

so i dunno if city rides are illegal as such but i know people frown upon them

and get a mate to check around corners for u... a bike landing on someone would suck...

Nah its 12 in nsw im prity sure.
Mate of mine got yelled at by a copper for riding on the footpath and he asked him if he was over 12 and if so get of the foot path

i wouldnt worry, unless the police warn you more than once they probably wont do anything so just ride until they warn you, and they may not even do that much. Just keep of things like monuments, statues etc, especialy like anzacs things thats asking for trouble when you manual or grind the edge of a tribute to the anzacs, as well as being disrespectfull....
