The final round of the Queensland Mountain Cross Super 2 Series took place over the weekend, on the new Illinbah Mountain Cross track, which will be holding Round 3 of the MTNX National Series this weekend.

Flash Point Promotions together with the Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club organized the series. The numbers were higher this time with many BMX riders making it out for the race. Spectators and riders alike were given free Red Bull from the Red Bull girls and got the chance to see many great crashes on the difficult track, including race organizer, Sarsha Huntington (Norco, For The Riders), enjoying a little play time with the dirt.

In the Elite Men we had an all BMX final. Taking away the honours and the $250 was Steven Janssen (DTK), followed by other team mates Michael Young in 2nd place & Daniel Castillo in 3rd.

In the Under 19 Men we saw Rhys Willemse (Intense Tyres, For The Riders) taking away the win with ease, with Mitchell Thorpe in 2nd and Tamryn Murrell in 3rd.

The big winner of the day went to one of the Under 15 Men, George Hickman, who took away the $1,000 Fluid Nitro Bike that was kindly donated by Anaconda, by competing at both Series and being randomly picked.
