Mackenzie Frenzy DH track
Location
Mackenzie frenzy is located at the end of Harvey street in Toowoomba. There is a map of the Downhill track and the Cross country loop on the gazebo at the end of that street.
Description
Mackenzie Frenzy is the only legal downhill track in South east Queensland. Built by the Toowoomba mountain bike club this track has everything.
From the top you pedal down the fire road for a few metres before you turn left onto the track thats when the braking bumps and loose rocks start and they dont end till you get to the bottom. At the top you go through a few flat corners over a little log drop and round a rutted berm. After that you float down a little concrete chute . After some fast corners you drop into the fast chute. Just hold on and stay of the brakes and you'll reach warp speed at the bottom. You go through more flat loose corners and some off camber straights. Jump over a pile of rocks and through a few corners then drop down a chute into the road gap. Do it right and you land on a water bar 20 feet away. Then you sprint up a tiny rise and fold into a few switchbacks. Sprint round the last one and your at the rock garden. Theres loads of lines but the main line is straight ahead, boosting of a rock at the end. Straight down the fall line into 2 kickers some more flat turns and drops until you hit the final jump onto the fire road.
Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club hold races at this venue once a year (although every one of them has been postponed due to rain). The track is open to the public so get out there. The more people ride it the rougher and better its gets.
PS: Ill add pictures once i get some
